Bukhari (7.030) Narrated Abdullah bin Umar:
Allah’s Apostle said, “Evil omen is in the women, the house and the horse.”
The other version, narrated by Sahl Bin Sad Saidi, says, “IF there is any evil omen in anything, then it is in the woman, the horse and the house,” which seems more probable. And then another version, narrated by Ursa says, “…Apostle said, ‘IF AT ALL there is evil omen, it is in the horse, the woman and the house.” A lady is to be warded off. And the Statement of Allah: ‘Truly, among your wives and your children, there are enemies for you (i.e may stop you from the obedience of Allah)’ (64.14)” [Bukhari 007.062.029]. The Prophet is not saying that women, horses and houses are bad as other Ahadiths amply show that he had all three and was quite happy with all three of those things.
